Greetings and welcome to my retelling of Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate 2: The Throne of Bhaal! I've noticed others starting their novels with a memorable and profoundly deep quote so, well... Ermmm, here's a Quark...
"I have a dream; a dream that all people -- Humans, Jem'Hadar, Ferengi, Cardassians -- will someday stand together in peace... around my Dabo tables." --Quark
Sorry. I couldn't resist.
But now that that's out of the way, let me tell you about the protagonist... The Child of Bhaal in this particular universe is Laska Leafwalker, a Moon Elven Fighter from Candlekeep. She's a hot-headed girl with a singular love for good adventure, good fights, good friends, good drinks and good body-art... She is not a good writer, however... Just take a look at her short first (and last) attempt at keeping a journal...

Terrible, isn't it? It's a good thing Viconia took over the job of keeping the journal when she joined back at Peldvale. Laska might be a good fighter, but she's way to frivolous to write a story herself... That's where I come in!

I am of opinion that the NPC characters are just as important as the main character. Laska would certainly never be able to survive the perils of Amn all on her own! (Though she would probably disagree) These eight good (or not so good) people are Laska's closest companions and friends during her travels... It also means her party is constantly ill-matched characterwise, so I've tried to put lots of humor in the chapters.
So... Let me just say that I hope you'll enjoy the story and get a good chuckle out of these characters' antics... Happy reading! If there are any questions, you can check out the faq or always e-mail me. You're always welcome, if you'd like to drop me a line...
To be continued...
