Part of it is seeing them as stuck-up holier-than-thous at times, but perhaps it is mostly that I feel paladins represent a romanticized version of knights of old when, quite frankly, knights of old could be pretty nasty. I mean, the first thing that came to my head when I heard there was a class kit called the inquisitor was simply not "Oh, I bet that's a class for the good guys."

On the other hand, I recognize fantasy is not reality, but I like it when a knight is portrayed as not-so-perfect (giving three cheers for drow-burning, acting like Anomen in general, etc)
