The newer drawings of the half-orcs remind me a lot of Neanderthal-and-earlier hominids. I must say I prefer the 3E sketches to the semi-human green pig face of the 1E version.

Gee, the females of the races sure are scantily clad. ;) Alyndria would run away if I tried to make her dress like that. Although I suppose if I plied her with enough cider she might not care. ;)

Blech - though, they made the elf look really cheezy. :6

Hmph. I almost didn't read it, you know--I missed the parenthetical to Weyoun, and was afraid of excess gore. But I'm glad I did.

> Gartak brushed her mauve locks out of her eyes. It was now her only

Awww...nice touch there.

> She heard a sudden squeak, and felt Boo's tiny feet scurrying up her bare

> arm. The hamster nuzzled into her neck, evidently trying to comfort her,

> Strong arms, muscles powerful as her own straining to contain her

> boundless grief.

*snif* That's sweet.

> "Gartak, Minsc knows. Minsc knows sorrow. I did not want to tell, but

> I have shame too. I killed my witch, I did it!"

> "What?" she said in shock. "Minsc, Irenicus killed

> Dynaheir!"

Oh, no! Poor Minsc!

> "Stupid cow! Even Kelemvor doesn't take half-orcs as paladins! You

*snarl* Maybe she should leave him with Firkraag.

> "Gartak?" Minsc asked shyly, awkwardly. "Boo seems to like

> to rest his head on your neck. Would… you let me try someday?"

Awwww!

> "I am not very smart, Gartak, but I know I can't break your heart, or

> I will break mine too," he said simply.

AWWWWWWWWWWWW!

This was so incredibly sweet. Now, of course, I want to know more about Gartak...

> Never Been Kissed Minsc cleared his throat in a thunderous rumble.

Poor Minsc. Such a kind and normally gentle soul, it's really a wonder no woman had warmed to him previously.

>

> "Yes," the ranger said simply. "Dynaheir always told me

> that I was smarter than I thought, and every time she said it, I found out

> I was smart enough."

I'd always thought Minsc to be smarter than he let on. In my games at least, he shows remarkable insight, even if unable to articulate it.

> "Gartak, Minsc knows. Minsc knows sorrow. I did not want to tell, but

> I have shame too. I killed my witch, I did it!"

This was a shocker. With Minsc's loyalty, I'm sure he was devestated.

>

> "Gartak?" Minsc asked shyly, awkwardly. "Boo seems to like

Ooo..very nice, almost like the 'one-arm sneak' we used to do as kids in the movie theatre!

Short and sweet. Enjoyable story

Graciously and Courteously,

> It's unique, anyway. Enough rambling. Here's the story.

Well, you got my host shivering while he clicked this post *snickers*, but he liked it pretty fine, as do I!

> The woman sighed. "Yes, Minsc, but I don't want to go to sleep. If I

> stay up, maybe I can forget that I killed Ajantis today. We murdered our

> friend, Minsc, how can you stand it?! If I sleep I will see my arms

Ajantis, eh? Never met the bloke myself, but I can imagine going a little crazy when you've accidentally killed a good friend... Well brought!

> "If only Kelemvor had granted me True Sight!" she cried in

> throat. "I am a failure, Minsc! Only a failure! I have not served

> come!"

A priestess of Kelemvor, eh? Hmmmm.... *thinks*

> He shook his head. "No, Gartak, she never left Baldur's Gate. When

Oh.... A sad scene... I feel for Minsc...

> had made when he found out that she was a hunter of the undead.

> "Stupid cow! Even Kelemvor doesn't take half-orcs as paladins! You

I remember that little twerp... A crushed image of Paladins and heroes can be devastating, I guess... Still, it was undeserved...

> She turned to face him. Shakily she said, "No time like the

> him close with all her might, hearing the blood pound in her ears. For

> long minutes they sat that way, and then Minsc moved.

Awwwww.... That was cute!

> She smiled at him, her eyes only two inches lower than his own, but her

> voice trembled as she said, "The only thing you could ever break is

> my heart, Minsc, so you must never leave me."

> "I am not very smart, Gartak, but I know I can't break your heart, or

> I will break mine too," he said simply.

Awwww.... *sighs happily* oh, Minsc... you can be so sweet... *sighs again*

*looks around* Why are you all looking at me like that?

> It was late spring, and they could hear the bullfrogs down by the pond

Oh, this was a wonderful story, not so terrible (for the faint-hearted) as you

said, I think! I like Gartak too (And for an elf, liking an Orc (or Half-orc), that's saying a lot!) That's another drink for you! The eight, I believe... *raises glass*
