Wow, this is a self-absorbed post! :D But it's important to me that I ask anyway. :D

After suffering writer's block for about 10 years, I've finally gotten an idea for a series, but I'm not sure anyone would be interested in reading it. Usually, I'd just write it anyway, but I've also got (for the first time in... well, ever actually) a few OTHER ideas, and I'd rather spend my time writing a story people would actually be interested in reading. So while this one is the one I'm maybe leaning toward writing now, if people aren't really interested, that's okay and I'll play with the other one instead.

How's that for convoluted?

Anyway, basically it would be yet another series that runs the course of the game, starting, actually, a little before the game actually begins. The problem is, with all the (really good!) serials with the same premise, I'm wondering if anyone would really be interested in following *another* one, especially because my protagonist is an evil bastich of a character. I've noticed a preferance on the board for the nicer type of character, and I'm not sure anyone wants to follow my horrible meanie of a guy. Well, he's not actually mean, but he IS evil as all get out.

So what do you think? Would anyone want to follow another game-length serial, about an evil character, to boot? Would an evil character be a welcome change, or would he make people uncomfortable?

This is all assuming I can actually keep up his weird writing style for the entire length of the story to begin with (it's the PC from Symphony, if anyone remembers that.)

Evil? Sure, I think I'd like that. It'd be rather refreshing, and maybe he and Nasty can become friends! hehe. I wouldn't mind another full game story... as long as the PC doesn't get pregnant :D

Evil is woefully underrepresented here at the Attic. I fully encourage both your own creativity as well as an evil character as the centerpiece.

Yes, please!

We need a bit of spice every now and then, and your evil PC may do just that. Go for it!

Another vote for yes. Just keep him out of my way. I don't like self proclaimed evil pukes any more than good. I walk my own path, and I doubt there will be any conflict with our stories.

Jealous zan envies all these people who can write series :)

However, normal zan says go for it, especially if you're writing an evil character, as it'd be interesting to see a different viewpoint. Of course, even if you weren't, I'd still be in favour. There may be numerous series currently running, but each one so far has cast a different light on the game's storyline, and there's always room for a new take on events. If your PC is as bad as you claim, he'll probably gain quite a few followers - many Attic-dwellers may not play evil, but I think that only increases their interest in reading the tales of those who do ;)

Enthusiastic zan says much the same, only louder :)

I say go for it! Evil Protaganist are usually the most interesting ones. It would be a nice change of pace. My two protaganist (one evil, one good) actually had an arguement over who would be the main character in my serial. I decided to go with the good protaganist because I enjoy writing her and I am more comfortable writing her. My point is if your going to write a serial (especially one that goes through the entire game)it's probably best if you use the character you want to write with. If that means writing with an evil character, then write using an evil character.

Anyways I hope you decide to write it.

Ummm... Darvith is definitely NOT getting pregnant. :)

He doesn't even *like* kids... :)

The Champion of Evil has spoken. ;)

Well, now that I've actually got ideas to write about, I've got creativity pouring out of my ears, so it wasn't going to get discouraged, anyway. :)

He's not very spicy. He prefers to liken himself to fine wines and such, but we ignore him most of the time. :)

Yay! I'm getting enthusiastic. I only hope people can deal with his (not mine, seriously ;) writing style for long enough to follow the thing. I'm not even sure I *have* a writing style; it changes according to the story. That probably means I haven't found my voice or something. :)

None at all. ;) Umm... I don't think you like anyone. >:)

And Darvith isn't self-proclaimed evil, he's Nyx-proclaimed evil.

Jealous Nyx does too. She hopes she can do it. Hope hope hope...

And hey, the Haer'Dalis stories were *sort of* a series, it just didn't have numbers. ;)

Well... He's not evil in the Nastramas sort of overt way. But I shouldn't talk too much. :) I can't steal my own thunder! I'm just glad that my previous two stories didn't really give all that much away about the guy.

LOL! :) Louder is good!

Yeah, the main problem is that I feel comfortable writing basically both of them. Darvith brings out the darkness in me, and his story is less soap opera than, say, Evanire's (Evanire being my other protagonist.) But she's interesting too, and I do want to explore her, as well. Plus, what's wrong with a good soap opera? ;)

Good to know. That'd be weird. *shudder*

Yeah, Jade eats 'em for breakfast. Uhh... you didn't hear me say that.

Yahoo ! Go for it. It would be nice to see an evil character, though I had to admit it is VERY hard to write about an evil guy/gal and keep him/her sympathetic. ;)

Why thank you Nyx! That's gotta be one of the best compliments I've received in a long time now.

Oh, that depends on the kind of evil, I think. ;)

I don't think Darv is particularly sympathetic, but hopefully people will like him anyway. Eh, then again, he doesn't care if anyone likes him, so why should I? :)

Nothing is wrong with a good soap opera, but I think a darker tale would be a nice change of pace. I say go with Darvith.
