Sick of thieves and vampires? Finally, another way to get to Brynnlaw! There are two other ways, in fact. One involves a group even the most uptight paladin would tolerate. The other is intended for Bhaalspawn wanting to flip the proverbial finger at Spellhold, Irenicus, and Imoen.

Also included is "Temple Thievery," allowing completion of Mae'Var's tasks without having to steal the Weathermistress' amulet (although this was written for Jastey's BG2 Ajantis mod). And in v5, it now adds the option to get Quallo's "Blood of a True Friend" without killing his many-legged buddy.

In other words, no more pickpocketing body parts--though IIRC, BG1 still lets you pickpocket bandits' scalps. "So I kicked him in the head until--AAAAAUUUGH!! Beshaba, I'm RUINED!"

Download berelinde's Alternatives at The Gibberlings 3.

Could you give a brief review of it? I mean, I would like another alternative for such characters as my paladins and the like, but what little BGing time I have I don't want to spend on mods that are just... ok.

I thought it was fairly well-written, and the style didn't jar with the original game. It actually felt like a part of Shadows of Amn--more like restored content than original fan-added stuff. My only complaints are that, when you accept one offer, it updates your journal with "told offers 1, 2, and 3 to leave me alone," and there's a couple typos. Also, there's something weird with the initial cutscene for the goody-two-shoes route (might just be my heavily modded game, though). Otherwise, it's quite a good mod--I haven't even run into any bugs. My general rule for mods is "good unless I find evidence to the contrary," and Alternatives certainly fits. I particularly liked that the good path wasn't, for instance, a group of "smite makes right" paladins. It basically works for anyone that wouldn't want to deal with thieves/vampires. And the evil version was entertaining from my point of view, but no doubt infuriating from CHARNAME's (and I thought Saemon was bad). All in all, definitely a worthwhile download.
