The begining of 'The Key to Imprisonment' began with a 'Druid Warning'. This then is Jaheira's Prophecy

Saradush…

The Tankard Tree shock violently…

They were all very tired. She as much as any of them. But how much sleep could they get with the constant bombardment that was going on.

But she was thankful for the hot bath. And her room, although small, was hers alone. Slowly she moved towards the open window. A slight breeze was trying to come through, but was caught by the curtains, blowing them into the her room. She moved the light hangings off to one side, allowing the cool night air complete entry. A small chill gripped her as the gentle wind wrapped her slight sleeping robe across the front of her slender half elf body.

Effortlessly she lower herself into the narrow seat that was built into the wall under the window. With longing brown eyes, she gazed up towards the shining stars overhead.

‘Khalid, my love, your death as been avenged, and yet…’ She felt the moisture upon her cheek as she closed her eyes and lowered her head. ‘ and yet… I am not allowed to join with you…’

Again the brown eyes turned towards the havens. ‘I fear in my heart that there is more I must do.’ Now the wetness was falling upon her hands that rested on the sill of the window. ‘Something which I do not yet understand… Something which is keeping me here… away from you… away from my love…’

“ONE…”

They were thousand of them, elves, dwarves, humans… even a dragon in human form. More then she could comprehend. More then she knew was possible… And they were standing there in a ring… around a throne.

And then she spotted Sarevok. And besides him Lyceyua. And Imoen. But between Lyceyua and Imoen was something she could not make out clearly.

“ONE…”

Before she could concentrate on the mystical form, the others began to vanish. And a figure began to take shape on the throne.

The Slayer…

But this was not just a Slayer… This was The Slayer! This was Bhaal… The mighty Lord of Murder in all his menacing glory!

There was no sound but she could hear the Lord of Murder maniacal laughter as those that stood around him vanished.

“ONE…”

Until there was only the mystical form left…

“ONE…”

and both screamed…

Echoing volumes…

But her room was still dark and quite… Very quite.

Slowly the druid crawled along the floor beside her bed… ??Floor?? And something hard was held within one of her hands.

Sitting up slowly, allowing the early morning dew to soak through her thin nightclothes, the druid began to examine the small token.

It was shaped like a small child. A baby. Curled up as if sleeping, the thumb of one small hand was in its mouth. The detail held within the tiny trinket amazed her.

“ONE…”

And then she was suddenly standing before her. She knew her, but then she did not. Somehow she knew this was the mystical form. Now whole… She reached forward and lightly touched the tiny token that was within the druid’s hand. A similar wooden token was held within the others other hand.

She could feel the heat radiate from it in her hand, and, as she watched, the little form seemed to breathe… almost as if it were alive…

It was then that she spotted the startlingly blue petal flower, with its broad bluish leaves. And the druid felt a warm glow growing deep within.

“ONE!!!”

But the warmth changed quickly to a deep and bitter cold, as the Ectora flower before her began to brown and wither… and die…

Looking once more into her hands, she watched as ashes spilled out from between her fingers.

And the druid screamed…

A question - if the 'Khalid' story happened in the same timeline, didn't Jaheira walk out of the group before Suldanessellar?

‘Khalid, my love, your death as been avenged, and yet…’ She felt the moisture upon her cheek as she closed her eyes and lowered her head. ‘ and yet… I am not allowed to join with you…’

Aww. Poor Jaheira... and nobody's there to comfort her... :)

But her room was still dark and quite… Very quite.

Chilling prophecy... will Bhaal be raised then? But no, Lyceyua will kill Amellysan and refuse the essence... then this is a prophecy that might come to fruitition after the end of ToB?

And then she was suddenly standing before her. She knew her, but then she did not. Somehow she knew this was the mystical form. Now whole… She reached forward and lightly touched the tiny token that was within the druid’s hand. A similar wooden token was held within the others other hand.

I presume that mystical form is someone... not very nice. And those tokens speak of children... Anomen and Lyceyua's?

But the warmth changed quickly to a deep and bitter cold, as the Ectora flower before her began to brown and wither… and die…

 Ok... I don't think something REALLY bad just happened to Jaheira, since iirc she became a mentor to one of Anomen and Lyceyua's sons... didn't she? :)

Anyways, I liked this - very atmospheric and mysterious. :(

Yes, when a kindly old man named 'Terminsel' hands your character a note. But she goes back to Athkatla and you can get her back.

Not the one that she wants...

Thus 'The Key to Imprisonment' which does take place after TOB

Ok???

My...this was eerie, and very ominous. I really liked the mystical feeling to it, and the symbolism, and I hope Jaheira's future isn't as bleak as it seems here.
Rogues do it from behind.

With a female protagonist, Jaheira's future seems bleak without Khalid. Hopefully there is something for her to live for...
