Kelsey-SOA V1.5 Released!

Kelsey, the world's finest male human sorcerer NPC mod for Baldur's Gate 2, is now in release V1.5 for the Shadows of Amn portion of the game.

Kelsey brings you...

Thousands of new lines!
250 new voice clips!
Dozens of new NPC banters!
Hair-raising combat with all-new enemies!
Romance!
New magical items both powerful and bizarre!
Sorcery!

V1.5 adds hundreds of new lines of dialogue, including new interjections and conversations with game characters, as well as new and improved flirts for romance with a female PC, and expanded conversations at the end of the romance.

Over 50 audio clips have been either added or recreated for this release.

You do not need to start a new game in order to take advantage of Kelsey if you do not wish to do so.

You can find Kelsey in the Government district of Athkatla. He is standing near the Firecam Estate (at roughly 2000x2000, in the SW region of the map) and he will approach you and initiate dialogue.

Kelsey adds over two dozen new inter-party banters to the game, and interacts with dozens of "scenery NPCs" and enemies, as well.

Kelsey is a romance-enabled NPC, which means he will initiate a romance with a female PC who is human, elven, half-elven, or halfling. While we think the romance is an important part of Kelsey's character, he is still a valuable and talkative addition to a party with a male PC, or a female PC who simply doesn't think Kelsey is her type.

Kelsey is compatible with some of the more interesting mods out there, such as Solaufein. It is packaged as a self-extracting installer, and you do not need any extra tools to add Kelsey to your game.

Kelsey is the product of over a year of hard work. On behalf of all who have contributed, we hope you enjoy.

Here's the changes for V1.5, taken from the README:

V1.5:

Many, many, many fixes.

- Corrected Kelsey scripting so that there should no longer be looping
dialogue after defeating Ceara

- Corrected Tree-of-Life/Hell-arrival/Final-Irenicus speeches so that
Kelsey should never again loop at this stage

- Finally enabled Kelsey and Anomen to have their conflict if Anomen has
his Test before Kelsey's sixth LOVETALK. (this was always in the code,
but never worked!) The conflict is significantly different if he is LG
or CN.

- Updated Kelsey's color set to spiffy blue instead of "girly pink."

- A few typo corrections and replies that better fit some plot elements

- Made the romance timer longer

- Introduced Kelsey-initiated flirting in SOA

- Expanded on PC-initiated flirts

- Expanded the "post-nookie" LOVETALK

- Added various new interjections

- Recorded many new lines, re-recorded many more, and remastered still
more audio (shorter silences, smaller Ogg compression, etc.)

- Some code cleanups, particularly in FWKelseyInterject.d where there
was some major nastyness. Kelsey-SOA still is not a good example of
WeiDU coding, and never will be, but it's more palatable now.
Go read through Kelsey-TOB code, and Valen, for cleaner examples.

- Switched to much, much newer WeiDU, so Kelsey should be compatible
with .key/.bif-mongering mods.

- Re-recorded some audio elements (Tree of Life)

- Added Blue-Nalia vocals

- Introduced Banter Accelerator option

- Removed Detectable Spells Lower Resistance, since it has a bug.

- Various minor bugfixes

- Updated to much much MUCH newer WeiDU.
