Sarevok and Kivan were dueling under the watchful eyes of Winski, when all three of them felt the ripples of Edwin's inadvertant portal to the Outer Darkness. The duel faltered as all three of them swayed uneasily on their feet.

Sarevok felt a chill in his bones, if a spirit in Hades could be said to have bones. "What was that?" He demanded.

Winski closed his eyes and leaned his head back for a moment, sensing things Sarevok could not, before answering. "A door was opened that should not have been....and closed again. A crisis was narrowly averted, but the ramifications will be felt later." He stood normally and opened his eyes again. "Adrian was involved, albeit that was not his wish. It will be something to worry about....later. Continue your duel."

"I feel as though we're wasting time here," Kivan grumped.

"He's right," Sarevok agreed. We've been dueling eachother far too long down here."

Winski thought a moment, then nodded. "Perhaps it is time for you to wreak a little more havoc in the Blood War."

Sarevok smiled.

Haer'Dalis, Raelis Shai, and the actors troupe arrived in Athkatla by portal, looking a little shaken.

"Did you feel that, Miss Raelis?" The tiefling was uncharacteristicly frightened. "An icy chill to the bones that this sparrow cannot describe.."

"Yes...someone opened a conduit to the Outside. Fortunately, it closed again almost immediately." She shook herself. "It only increases our urgency."

"We are not safe here, Miss Raelis."

She laughed, musically. "When has safety mattered to you, o member of the Doomguard?"

He smiled. "I fear not death. Oblivion is not my foe....but to be captured by the Duke's servants agian...."

She put a hand on his arm. "We will be fine. Come now, we have a play to perform."

He grunted wordlessly and followed her.

Adrian's party came within sight of Immesvale. Even from here they could tell something was wrong; the surrounding forrests had a darkness to them that had nothing to do with the shaddow of evening.

"Something is wrong here," said Tree. "But it is different than the Druid Grove. That was being twisted. The woods here, are being.....smothered."

The town looked small and frightened, surrounded by the dark woods. Without a word, Adrian lead hte party down to what seemed a public gathering, held by a most agitated mayor.

Ah, I liked how we got these little glimpses of other people's reactions to Edwin's disastrous little experiment. And I'm seriously worried about what the effects of it will be latert on...

Will be interesting to see the Imnesvale quest, that forest is one of the spookiest parts of the game, I think.

oh to come back to tht thing you warpy in or what ever so its from outside the D&D world (with is big allready of things that live in it)

its not like i know a lot of other fantasie world it coud come from??
dragonlance is the only one i know of oudtside of D&D

Youre confusing D and D with Forgotten Realms. Forgotten Realms is just one possible D and D reality; Dragonlance is another. Like the FR, Dragonlance is about swords and sorcery. There are others; Greyhawk and Ravenloft spring imediately to mind. This is all part of D and D, different material planes, if you will, next door to eachother.

This thing came from outside all of that. From Beyond. From the Outer Darkness. The Hells and Hades and the Abyss are all very unpleasant places to be, no doubt, but they are places that evil D and D folk go when they die, and are part of that paradigm, that reality.

The thing....that's from the great void beyond all possible worlds. If confronted with it, the rival factions of the blood war would put aside their differences long enough to fight it. Ahgels and Demons would likewise temporarily halt hostilies for the same reason.

The inspiration for the monster came from the works of HP Lovecraft; it's a very minor mopnster from a very major bestiary headed by the dark tencacled monstrosity Cthulu.

I hope that clears it up.

anyway seeing she is going to life! you going to keep her for the dragon and shade lord fight ? little extra arrow cover is never bad(don`t ansore if ya think it will ruin things for me or others)

Probably not. But later, much later, after Adrian has gone on to Suldanessalar, she will help Keldorn with...certain things from "Most Noble Order".
