I've been meaning to work on a set of stories (or more likely a novella if I can write them in chronological order) based around a Paladin of Lathander. However I've noticed a goodly number of Paladin based stories, and the added complication that No One of Consequence's Adamant is VERY similar the character sketch I had worked out.

Essentially I'm looking to see if such a story would fit in here, or if I'd be beating a dead rabbit, or worse yet, thought of as plagiarizing?

As far as characters are concerned, I doubt anyone's going to accuse you of plagiarising, no matter what you do, since this is fanfic and all of us are essentially plagiarising the game (in effect).

I've been here eighteen months - two years and I've never seen anyone "booed off stage yet." I think the only thing that would really rile people is if you borrowed their key characters for your story without discussing it with the author first.

Step up to the mike and let rip - I promise that even if folks don't like it, most will still be helpful. And everyone's got something new to offer. ;)

LOL cool. I must say I love your story, and am eagerly awaiting new chapters. Its quite inspiring in some ways as well. My only real hangup is trying to decide a romance partner.

Jaheira is my favorite. I've never played through the Aerie one, so thats off. I've thought about doing a Nalia or Imoen-based one, just for giggles. But part of me wants to make Viconia the other half just so I can throw in some Silverbolt/Black Arachnia scenes (from Transformers Beast Wars for those not acquainted with the source material). ;)

Oops, unfamiliar pop-culture reference (I think I've seen about fifteen minutes of Beast Wars, none of it consecutive).

I know you've got your own ideas, but if you're curious I have an aborted Viconia romance that I plan on resurrecting one day. If you search the archives forum for my name, it's the "Ironwolf: Out of Shadows" storyline. There's about a dozen episodes.

And I'm glad you like my stuff, thanks. :)

Oh I love your stuff. Aside from jealousy that you got to some of it first, you've given me tons of ideas just from little things you've hinted at

Hmmm, I'll have to go look that one up.

As for the pop-culture reference, Silverbolt was the insufferably overdramatic paladin type "Fear not, Fair Maiden" and all that stuff. Black Arachnia was a treacherous cynical who gave him nothing but heat for his behavior. Of course they were both smitten and she would never admit it until the end when she finally switched sides.
