Ryan Brady was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons and role playing games when he was in junior high school back in 1985, but it wasn't until the release of Baldur's Gate in 1998 that he made the jump into the exciting world of CRPGs (well, there was Diablo, but that doesn't count). Since then, he has played through every Infinity Engine game at least two or three times and has recently taken to writing short stories based on these games.

In real life, Ryan is a software quality assurance consultant living in Denver, Colorado. When he's not making a vain and futile attempt to convince upper-management of the necessity of implementing proper software testing methodologies, Ryan enjoys playing the piano, cross-country running, camping, backpacking, and pretty much anything else that involves being outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with his friends and being as far away from work as possible.

And Now for Something Completely Different

Alright. Listen up, berk. Let me spill the chant for you. It's about time you started rattling your bone box about something other than the Forgotten Realms. Faerun isn't the end-all and be-all of the multiverse, you know. Even the most clueless basher knows that within the world of Toril there's other lands--Mazteca, Kara-Tur, and Zakhara being the most notable. But why stop there? There's entire planes waiting to be explored. There's the untamed wild of Greyhawk, the horrors of Ravenloft, the ridged order of Mechanus, the swirling chaos of Limbo, and the great melting pot of Sigil, just to name a few. Heck, it'd drive a sod barmy trying to count all the hundreds upon hundreds of planes of existence that are out there. Bottom line is: don't think Faerun is anything special, because it's not.

Your task for this quiz is to write about anything outside the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. It could be in a traditional D&D campaign world such as Greyhawk or Krynn (Dragonlance), one of the non-traditional planar settings such as Sigil, Avernus, or Elysium, or even a world that has nothing to do with Dungeons & Dragons such as Sanctuary (Diablo), Azeroth (Warcraft), or Torn (Black Isle: Torn). In other words, open your eyes and mind to the multiverse and see what you can find.

So what are you waiting for, berk, a personal invitation? Don't just stand there like some kind of clueless sod--get to writing! :?

Ryan Brady
