Heh. Until I read this, I had just assumed they'd done this quest. I always do it immediately, since it's an easy way to get some cash early, and some cool stuff.

That bloody sword kicked my butt until it was unsummoned. I never thought to use magic on it. *sheepish grin* Sometimes I'm too like Sionel--"Hit it until it falls down!"

> “And you actually believed him?” the gnome said scornfully.

> “Jan! I am grateful for what you have done but you must not overstep your

> “What if he hurts Jaella again?”

> “He won't, Jan! He's different now. You're not being fair to him.”

This still makes me want to alternate between crying and banging my head into a wall. It's so frustrating, and so depressingly realistic.

It was one of those 'floating' quests that I didn't have tied to a specific time period. For instance, I wanted to do Windspear Hills when I had Keldorn, and needed to wait until I was ready to let go of Minsc to go to Imnesvale. So the Copper Coronet stuff got put off.

My standard strategy sort of goes "hit it- didn't work? - magic missile it!"

I considered doing something more satisfying, like turning Vaelag into pate, but I realized that it is important to see that not everything turns out wonderfully. Though the SOB isn't completely off the hook yet.

*nods* He does a good job of fumbling his attempt to talk the PC out of working with the Shadow Thieves. There's a couple of other conversations that, had they actually shown up in my first game, would have made me extremely suspicious.

Hmm. T. J. Hooker, maybe?

(*grins* I saw a trailer last weekend for an upcoming cop comedy. DeNiro, Eddie Murphy and Bill Shatner. If it's not a case of the only funny moments being included in the trailer, it should be a scream.)

Yea, I guess gnome beds would be a major pain to try and fit in if you were human sized.

Grrrr damn child beaters...

btw good point about Valygar concealing his identity.

Always wondered about this one: why *can't* you ever stay at Valygars evenw hen you have him in your party?

They never did summon that Mord Sword on me when I killed them.

I hate Illithids. I really do. At least the githyanki have a sense of humor, well the wild mage did at least.

> Yea, I guess gnome beds would be a major pain to try and fit in if you

> were human sized.

Well, it wouldn't be too bad if you don't mind sleeping curled up in a ball.

> Grrrr damn child beaters...

Grrr indeed.

> btw good point about Valygar concealing his identity.

At this point he is still a wanted criminal in the eyes of the CWs so he wouldn't want to call attention to himself.

> Ahhhhh forgot Jarran hasn't freed Hendak yet.

I wanted to do things a bit differently, so I left this for a later quest.

> For once I acutally agree with Ano

Everyone can agree with Anomen on this one.

> Always wondered about this one: why *can't* you ever stay at Valygars

> evenw hen you have him in your party?

Or Keldorn's if he stays with you after the family troubles, or Jan's (though staying there permanently sounds like a recipe for insanity), or Anomen's after his father is dead (if you are playing the LG romance) or any number of places we should be able to stay free. Of course in fanfic we aren't constrained by that. I love Weyoun's idea of seizing the Guarded Compound. And who said they wouldn't be staying at Val's after he settles his problems, hehehe.

> They never did summon that Mord Sword on me when I killed them.

Ah, lucky you.

> I hate Illithids. I really do. At least the githyanki have a sense of

> humor, well the wild mage did at least.

Heheh, yeah, he was funny.

> Grrrrrr

> Arag: meat/render/tear!

Good wolfie.

> *cheers* go jan!

Vaelag's lucky. Jan was too angry to tell him a story.

> *cackle* You feel'n lucky, punk? Well are ya?

*snicker*

> *bands head on KB* I wanted to smack the woman when I did this quest. Then

It's hard to watch.

> Ouch, painful relization.

The perspective of a child and that of an adult are very different.

> Vantrel: If he won't, I will, but I suspect that won't be a problem.

It is one of the saddest in the game.

> Jarran looked worried. “That sounded human. Valygar, would you slip down

> The ranger simply nodded and silently vanished down the dimly lit hall.

> After a few minutes he was back, his face grim. “There are people down

Vaelag is the Gnomish Reiltar. Die die die die die!

Mazzy's a seasoned adventurer, a night on a floor is nothing new.

> Ah, Jarran could take out that stick-boy butler any day of the week! :D

Yes, but he was trying to do things the *civilized* way.

> You know, I've always wondered about those Enlightened Ones and what her

> part in it all was... Sadly the game was not forthcoming with details...

I think it's one of those nine million secret societies that exist in FR. We get a glimpse of quite a few of them in the game, but only glimpses.

> Ah, Lethinan is still in charge? I'm guessing there'll be two quests for

> the price of one here! :(

Several intertwined ones, in fact.

> Heheheehehehehehe... *starts rubbing hands in anticipation to read about

> Jarran kicking slaver-rump* ;)

Coming, coming.

> But, first things first, of course!

Naturally Anomen is going to want to save her quickly. He has a soft spot for kids.

> And the thumb is in with the EO too! This is getting complicated! :(

> Oh, yeah! Valygar has a lovely place at the docks! I didn't remember that

> one...

Hehehe, you'll get to see more of his home later in AC- redesigned of course. BG2 has all these mansions and large homes where we see only a room or two. I mean, obviously the home Anomen grew up in has more than three rooms. I just have to work out a rough floor plan.

> Uppity Illithid... :D

Aren't they all?

> Vaelag should have his chest-cavity pierced by a sharp, long and shiny

No argument here.

> ROTFL! "Do you feel lucky, punk? Well? Do ya?" ;)

*snicker*

> *rips off a piece of duct-tape and smacks it over Anomen's mouth*

Don't be too hard on him. He's just realizing that things aren't always simple. He still loves his mother very much, he just is seeing that she may not have been the saint he saw her as when he was younger.

> Amen!
