Anyone know how to beat this annoying creature without Annah?(I don't have any skill to backstab)How many hitpoints does this thing have anyway?

I have nailed it with all the spells I got and still am getting destroyed.

thanks

There is no way you can get TNO up high enough to where he gets 12 level 2 slots. And there aren't enough items in the game to boost it up that high. Of course, if you hack the game, beating the Fiend with Fall-from-Grace in melee wouldn't even be a challenge. Just my 2 coppers.

Actually, you can get Tattoo of the Magi, which doubles all your level 1 and level 2 slots. So you only need 6 natural level 2 slots to get a total of 12. Well TNO needs to be level 26 to get 6, so maybe I was a bit optimistic (unless you play solo). But you can get 10 at level 13, which is reasonable, and I think 10 is probably enough (with enoll eva's dupe), considering the fiend has about 200 hp.

In EQ, an old tactic that was really effective was for druids to cast Spirit of Wolf on themselves to make them run faster, then cast Snare on the monster to make them run slower, then cast a damage over time spell on the monster that was also called Stinging Swarm.

Now, we don't have SoW or Snare but we got Swarm Curse and the fact that nothing in the game runs as fast as your characters except maybe Sohmiens. Still, as in EQ, "kiting" takes a while. My method is quicker and more fun just because you might get killed. :)

Yep, the Swarm Curse method is basically a cheap shot. I think the spell (along with Blacksphere) is bugged and that they shouldn't have been so powerful in the first place. However, I'm playing TNO as a mage solo, so there is basically no other way to kill any of the bigger monsters apart of this. In my first game with a full party (also playing as a mage), I threw everyone at the monster, and I found Nordom's arrows to be the most effective. Dak'kon only managed a hit every 4 swings or so, and when I ran Annah in there with -10 AC, she suffered 60 damage in 1 blow! Unreal.
