I *know* you are incorrect. I also *know* that this *know* thing is also annoying ;)

Seriously though, Dak'kon's blade also changes with morale, although if you ask me the neutral morale blade is the best - balance and all... I have no clue how to change his morale though.

Well, a couple of easy to do things have direct impact on his Morale.

Looking through the dlg files for Dak'kon reveals that telling him you want to release him from slavery will increase his morale by 2. Conversely, telling another Gith that he is your slave will decrease his morale by one.

The way you handle the sick Gith woman in the market will also impact it. Make her hurt to decrease morale, put her out of her misery to increase.

Any time you have the opportunity to stand up for him or to look out for his personal interests you will likely increase his morale. If he interjects into conversation, listen to him. If someone puts him down, stick up for him etc...

Is there a way of seening Dak'kon's morale or do you just have to guess what it is.

You probably can tell from his blade. The Streaming Blade represents High Morale. Good for those who want to use Dak'kon as a magic user. The Enchained Blade represents Dak'kon at neutral morale. With an AC of +6, this really is the best fighter blade. At low morale, Dak'kon uses the Kinslayer. This blade does more damage, but one Bolt of Lightning and Dak'kon fails his morale checks (which really sucks, especially if he goes berserk).

Dak'kon starts out with the Chained Blade. The quickest way to achieve the Streaming Blade is to become a mage by question for Mebbeth. After becoming a mage, speak with Dak'kon about Zerthimon and start reading the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon. After reading each of the Eight Circles, discuss it with Dak'kon. Always select the first choice when Dak'kon asks you what you have learned because the first choice is always the right choice. Oh, you have to have very high wisdom to complete all eight circles. Beginning at Circle 2, you will get spells. At 6 and beyond, you get 2 copies of each spell, one for you and the other for Dak'kon. The seventh and eighth circles are hidden and you must look for them yourself because Dak'kon will not prompt you to do so. After reading the eighth circle and explaining it to Dak'kon, he will get a major stat boost, you will get a ton of xp, and his blade will turn into the Streaming Blade. Dak'kon's "morale" is simply his faith in Zerthimon and the state of *knowing* himself. All this makes becoming a mage quite worth it.
