"What kind of wizard are you?!?" Edwin demanded.

"Worse than even you, that's what kind he is," Anomen countered. "The abomination of these eyes.....even after all I had experienced travelling with...with these monsters, I had never thought that I should see such horrors and affronts to Helm."

The wizard did not bother answering with words, he babbled laughter instead. Obviously more insane than Xzar, and that was going some.

Anomen's hammer and Edwin's acid arrow found the enemy mage simultaneously, and that was that.

In his desk they found a scroll of geas removal for the guardian dragon. Thankful it had not been any worse, they moved on, dragging Xzar away from the experimental eyes bobbing in their fluid containers. Giovanni was unsettled, reminded in some ways of Irenicus.

The Green Dragon stood tall and proud....refusing to grant them passage even after the Geas was removed.

So it would have to die, of course.

The Reaper and Anomen charged in first, Viconia and Korgan not far behind, Anishai brining up the rear.

"What typical arrogance," Giovanni sighed and shook his head. "Do you know, before I became a Necromancer, I considered consorting with dragons? I thought they would make wonderful allies."

"They would," Edwin agreed. "If you can but get them to listen to you. Much as I enjoy Reds, I find that Blues tend to be more sociable."

"Uh, guys..." Imoen pointed. The Dragon was breathing green gas at them. They scattered like quail.

Bhodi and her children were unnafected, of course. They followed the other warriors to join them in battle, while the mages prepared their spells.

Quinn the Jester Gnome danced and capered, mocking the Dragon, until a wing buffet knocked her back. Imoen and Giovanni went tumbling after.

That left Edwin and Xzar desperately trying to call forth the resistance lowering spells they needed as the Dragon prepared to breathe once again.....
