She felt hollow, empty, a bottomless dark chasm where the spark of hope had resided. His love had burned intensely, searing the darkness with it radiance.
His quiet continence forced the evil to retreat, her heart free of the chains of bhaal's evil if only for a moment. Was a gift she would not soon forget.
Now he was gone, and the angry whispers of her sire's blood sang with renewed vigor. The paladin scrubbed her face roughly. No tears would bring him back.
Elrien buried her face in her hands, to erase the horrible image of the sorcerer, from her mind, all she could see was his ashen face, dark unseeing eyes staring.
The anguish was as sharp as the wooden stake that pierced bodhi's chest.
"Oh Torm!" she sobbed hot tears burned down her cheeks, "I can't."
Regret curled her tightly in it's icy grip, she failed, she wasn't able to save him. she had ended his un-life with her holy-blade.
Honor, loyalty, and duty, bade her to kill the undead creature that was her love.
The vampire had in the end gotten her revenge, taking all that Elrien cherished above all her heart, the sorcerer, Kelsey.
