The Githyanki began to talk, but Adrian simply cut his head off with one swipe. He was in no mood.

Others immediately began to appear out of the ether, and charged. Several Athkatlan pikemen ran in, but no Cowled Wizards were to be seen, presumably because no magic was being used by the enemy. Typical. Fortunately, their own liscences were still good.

"Your timing," said Adrian. slash

"Is not very," hack

"Convenient." Chop.

"However, you have earned--" slice

"My undivided--" swipe.

"--attention." crunch.


Korgan ran forward, sceraming, and leapt into a Githyanki, bowling him over, then went chopping with his axe.

Anomen and Viconia stepped up with hammer and flail, and took two Githyanki down.

Imoen used her Bhaalspawn powers to freez a Githyanki solid.

Two pikemen ran another through.

Zavrian danced like a mad dervish with his blades, killing three.

Coran and Safana each killed one.

Tree leapt through the air and landed on another. By that point enough pikemen had showed up to finish the job.

"This will attract attention," said Anomen. "Whatever is left of the Order may come for us."

"I personally hope, when all this is done, that we can take down those damnable Cowled Wizards," sighed Edwin.

"A little louder, Edwin, the troopers might hear you," Adrian said, not unkindly. "But as it happens I agree. However, Bhodi is the priority. One thing at a time. It's time to get help. Anomen, Tree, go to the circus nd ask Aerie to assist us. Zavrian, I assume you, Safana and Coran will be going back to the ship?"

"Aye, my friend. But we shall rejoin you soon enough. I may even bring some of me bucaneers too."

"That would be good."

"Oy, Adrian," said Korgan, leaning over the body of the first Githyanki they'd killed. "See this?" He held up a string. A silver bowstring. "Thinkin what I'm thinkin?"

"I am indeed," Adrian said, and smiled his first real smile in a long time. "Imoen. Present for you. Go with Korgan, take that string he has, and this silver bow--" he took it out of his pack "--and give them to a smith named Cromwell in the docks."

Imoen smiled and hugged her brother.

"Jan, any more of your family helpful in a fight?"

Jan looked thoughtful. "Kylie, I suppose. I'll ask her."

"Do that. Rest of you, with me, It's time to go get our friendly neighborhood necromancer."

Edwin chuckled thinly.

"Ahhhh, so good to see you my friends!" Xzar crooned. "Together again, eh, Thayvian?"

Edwin gave a sour smile. "Indeed, Zhentarim, indeed. Is your doxy about?"

"She's far more than that," the Necromancer sounded hurt in his pride.

Edwin waved his hands. "No offense meant. I know how effective she is."

"That's why we need her," Adrian agreed. "You've heard of the Vampire coven in the graveyards, Xzar?"

"Of course I have. Very pretentious, that lot. I would be friends with them, but they just want to feed."

"Good. We're going to go kill them. Are you in?"

Xzar smiled with far too many teeth, and that was the only answer required.

Ooooh, I really, really loved this segment! And I'm sure that Githyanki really regretted attracting Adrian's attention too.
