It is called 'The Gathering Storm'
These series are my second favorite after Robin Hobb's Farseers- Tawny man, with G. Martin's Ice and Fire trailing on third place. I highly recommend these books, and now that 5th one is out I guess I will slow down on my writing until I finish that last one!
