Alright, due to the addition of custom portraits to the module, I am going to have to create a hak pak for it. I won't implement it just yet, as I'm going to need to figure out how to distribute the hak pak. Remember, after the hak pak is implemented, you will need a copy of it in your Hak folder in order to play the module, whether in single or in multiplayer. In any case, if anybody wants to add their own portraits or other custom content to the module, send the relevant files to me so that I can begin including them in the hak.

:)

Aren't there kolbolds in NWN? That's just criminal!

I'm having trouble deciding on what portrait I want to use. ::pout:: I can't even decide what my avatar should look like. I'm so vain.

I know. They are adding them in the next patch though, at least skins and models. However... look at what they're like now:

AAAAAAA!!! This isn't the kobolds we all know and love, is it. This just isn't... well... it isn't Do'Quak.

*grins* Well, I certainly don't mind seeing Darvith's picture on your posts -_-. And I still haven't decided on one either... hmmm... the killer bunny or Aurora's picture... decisions...

OMG! That's not a kolbold! That's a Lizardman! Noooooooo! I'm traumatized. :) I want a cute, cuddle Do'Quak Kolbold.

LOL! Do you like the portrait, actually? That thing took me ages, just ages. And it's actually from a full-body shot in a forest, but well. I never finished it, because I am lazy.

Now it's all about "what custom portrait do I send CHAw?" -_-

Grrrr... :) I wonder who came up with a lousy idea like that. *sigh* Why did they have to go and change perfectly good things like kobolds in 3rd ed, anyway.

I like Darvith's pic. Especially the eyes... deeeep  And the hair, of course. Is it all digital, or... ?

And think I'll go with one of the IWD portraits for the mod. The one I finally made for Aurora to use in BG2 just doesn't fit the style, and besides, I kind of like the IWD pics. :o

I don't know. :o I am bitter! Actually, I'm bitter about a number of silly and fundamentally unnecessary changes in 3rd Edition, though I do generally like the system. I love the multiclassing, and the feats, and the increasing attributes and prestige classes and... and... and...!!!!

Plus I like the new halflings.

Detest lowlight vision though.

Yah; basically anything from me that's color is probably entirely digital. I stopped digi-painting scans a while back; too much trouble. It's easier to just paint the thing from scratch. On paper, I just use pencils all the time; I'm too precious for paints, lol. (Actually can't paint for my life and the mess really discourages me from trying; I can't even use pencils without keeping wetnaps around to wipe off the lead every few minutes.)

Hey, did you actually make that portrait? It's so atmospheric and cool. :)

Well, first when I saw the new stuff (in the players handbook) I wondered if it was the same game, or what. Then I read about spells and wondered where all my old favorites had gone :) But I have to admit it's growing on me, and yep the multiclassing and feats are cool. Appart from the CRPGs, I only ever used the D&D rules for background when writing (no one to play with :)), so I haven't really seen them in action outside of NWN, though.

Heheheh, sounds familiar. Now let's bring out the charcoal sticks and REALLY make a mess :) I use pencils and pens mostly when I draw. I don't mind the messy part about painting, so much as having to get out all the gear involved first :/ And not really any good at it either, the only type I ever liked doing was watercolours. 'Cause at least there you can say "The colours are SUPPOSED to mix like that, it's... err... impressionism", if you don't get it quite right :) As for digital, I do those sometimes, but since I have to draw with the mouse... well...

Thaks! -_- Yep, it's mine. It's cut out of the one I use for Aurora now on my page. Originally, it was a half-figure daytime picture of her in green armor, but I didn't like the way it looked so I changed the hue... and suddenly it looked a whole lot better :? [Edit]

Strange_Girl, I have received your e-mail and am installing the items now. I'm putting the portraits with the hak pak, which I will send to Leo after I'm ready with its first incarnation.

Nyx, I await your choice of portrait with great anticipation.

Anyone else who wishes to add custom content to the module, please tell me so that I know how many portraits or other content I need to add to the hak pak. If they are items, please confer with CHuK'chSS'raGKH, who is helping me with that.

Thanks CHAw. I went by and had a look earlier  Oh, and yes the dragon was a lot more challenging now, but it went down... eventually. I'm afraid I left a version of you running around alive in the pit though. I'll get back there and finish it off later, if someone else don't beat me to it... :)

Btw, noticed a few things while I was there: The pit-Drizzt keep repeating the same line when hit. Don't know if that's intended or not (it makes him even more annoying though, so maybe you should keep it ) and the door to the room next to mine is missing. Otherwise, I found that I actually COULD eat the food from the diningrooms... when I rested before eating -_- And that concludes the Strange report for today.

LOL! Yeah. I've notice I keep picking on Drizzt with my Neutral GOOD ranger. I'm picking on him more because of the "Don't poke Drizzt! 'Tis unsociable." line. :)

and the door to the room next to mine is missing.

Does the room have an owner? I mean, does the room belong to someone? Because CHAw only gave doors to rooms that belong to someone.

Fiery Fury aka Robert the Red, a neutral good ranger who now takes pleasure killing annoying Drizzts by the dozens.

Relieved to see it's not just me who feel that way

Don't think anyone owned it, so that's probably the reason then.

Hehe, I really hated it at first. I still have some issues, and I don't know how it can really be called D&D anymore, you know? And actually, still miss 2nd Edition... and still think in 2nd, sadly. :)

I haven't seen them in action outside of NWN either I fear. :) It's been a while since I did the pen and paper thing. :D Not sure I remember how.

Heheheh, sounds familiar. Now let's bring out the charcoal sticks and REALLY make a mess :)

LOL! I'm so anal-retentively clean... the few times I used charcoal I used charcoal pencils so it wouldn't get all over the place... and even then judged it too messy and went back to plain graphite. :)

I use pencils and pens mostly when I draw. I don't mind the messy part about painting, so much as having to get out all the gear involved first :/ And not really any good at it either, the only type I ever liked doing was watercolours. LOL! Yeah... impressionism. Watercolors are just impossible to control. And they're so wet! But for me, the worst part about painting, just like inking with a brush, is trying to keep my brushes from splitting and generally getting out of sorts, while cleaning. I really don't have any idea how one is supposed to do that. :?

As for digital, I do those sometimes, but since I have to draw with the mouse... well...

Ouch! Draw with a mouse?! Ouch ouch ouch! I'm on my third tablet, I think. -_- But they keep breaking. Well, the first one lasted for years. Then I got a bigger one, and it stopped working. So I got an EVEN bigger one, and that stopped working too. I was Quite Bitter too, since I was in the middle of a painting at the time. Ahh, isn't that always the way?

Thaks! :) Yep, it's mine. It's cut out of the one I use for Aurora now on my page. Originally, it was a half-figure daytime picture of her in green armor, but I didn't like the way it looked so I changed the hue... and suddenly it looked a whole lot better :D

LOL! I really like it! You know, Aurora was the first PC I'd seen with short hair. :D Of course now there are others, but because I am a long-hair junkie, when I first saw Aurora I thought... "OMG! I never realized a PC could have short hair!" :o

Well, lookie here, another post I haven't answered  This is probably way, way off topic now, though, so just a few things...:

Well, I think how easily they split depend a lot on the quality of the brush, and how you use it. Apart from that, not letting the paint dry on the brush, changing the water often and things like that may help. I usually clean my watercolour brushes by bending a wet sponge around them and carefully stroke them clean, and it seems to be working.

:P Well, just changed the avatar, so can't take credit for it anymore (I'm just undesided about what I want to look like :/). About the short hair: I've had this idea that she used to have long hair, but cut it short after having a fireball burn of most of it, or something like that. I don't know, I just desided that she shouldn't be beautiful, more unusual looking. :)

The new version of the toolset allows several hakpaks to be used in a module. This could allow us to break The Attic module hak pak into two or more different hak paks, thereby making them smaller. This would allow them to be placed at this site instead of putting the burden on Strange_Girl. Also, it'd make it easier to send hak paks back and forth to each other when their use is required, since at least my e-mail is limited in the size of the content that may be sent through it. On the other hand, there may be some confusion added into the mix if multiple haks are required. In any case, I'd like to know what the thoughts on this subject are.
